Frequently Asked Questions About This Site
Is this site free to use?
Yes. Every tool on https://invisblecharacter.co.uk, including the character copy tool, generator, detector, remover, and inspector, is completely free to use, with no account, sign-up, or payment required.
Do you store the text I paste into your tools?
No. All of our tools process text entirely within your own browser. Nothing you type or paste into any tool is sent to our servers, stored, or seen by us. You can read the full details on our Privacy Policy page.
Why does a character work on one platform but not another?
Each platform applies its own validation and trimming rules to text input, and these rules change as apps are updated. A character that is accepted today on one platform may be stripped or rejected after a future update. We test and document compatibility as accurately as possible, but we recommend checking our Blank Character comparison page and testing on a non-critical field first if you are unsure.
How accurate is your character and platform data?
We cross-check our character data against the official Unicode Standard and test compatibility directly against current platform behavior. That said, platforms update frequently, so we recommend treating our compatibility notes as a strong starting point rather than a permanent guarantee.
Are invisible characters safe to use?
Yes, in general. Invisible and blank Unicode characters are standard, publicly defined characters and are not scripts, code, or malware. That said, some invisible characters, particularly directional formatting characters, have occasionally been used to disguise file names or text in bad-faith contexts. If you are checking text for hidden or potentially disguised characters, our Invisible Character Detector is built specifically for that purpose.
